Nurturing Minds, Building Futures Since 2012
Dungsam Academy was initially established in 2012 under the initiative of Shung Dratshang, with the objective of expanding access to quality education based on British education standards. Due to changes in government policy and the COVID-19 pandemic, the academy remained inactive for a period.The Ministry of Education has approved the reopening of Dungsam Academy from February 2026, marking a renewed commitment to providing inclusive and quality education.
Dungsam Academy will reopen with Classes XI and XII offering Science, Arts, and Commerce streams.The institution places a strong emphasis on Mathematics as a key foundation for academic success, especially for Class XII students. Special focus is given to developing conceptual understanding through the principles of “Why and How” in learning.
Teaching Philosopy & Values
At Dungsam Academy, education goes beyond academic achievement. Guided by the belief that “education should teach students how to think, not what to think,” the academy promotes holistic development rooted in values, ethics, and modern learning approaches.Equal importance is given to intellectual, emotional, social, physical, creative, and moral development. Through experiential learning methods such as flipped classrooms, reflective learning practices, and strong co-curricular and sports programs, students are encouraged to become confident learners and responsible individuals.
Faculty Strength & Learning Approach
To strengthen academic delivery, Dungsam Academy engages experienced faculty members across disciplines. The academy is supported by Mr. Anand Kumar of Super 30 for Mathematics, along with qualified faculty in Biology, Physics, and English.The focus remains on building strong foundations, critical thinking skills, and real-world application of knowledge, particularly in Mathematics, which plays a vital role in higher education and professional success.
