Student Code of Conduct
DISCIPLINE
The school will conduct various regular programs of counselling, value, religious, health and safety
Education that targets at molding and bringing positive behavioral changes and development in stormy
Age group of our secondary school children.
Also, in light, of the national goals, and aspiration, the management of Dungsam Academy has prepared.
The following details of the offences so as to enable the students to conduct themselves properly in
all the sphere of school life. Any offence committed by a students shall be dealt with by the school
discipline committee according to the procedure listed in the code of conduct. Henceforth, all the
students shall follow the disciplinary rules and Regulations outlined here in this pamphlet provided
to all the parents and students during the time of admission for better understanding and awareness.

The main offence calling for disciplinary action are
- Offensive behavior such as assault on any person;
- Insubordination;
- Abuse of any hard drugs such as cocaine, dendrite, marijuana, etc.
- Abuse of soft drugs such as correcting fluids, petrol, spirit, sleeping tablets, etc.
- Used of alcohol, tobacco and doma.
- Shoplifting;
- Theft (question paper, school property, money, food, orchard raiding, etc.);
- Forgery;
- Cheating during class and examination;
- Carrying/possessing of firearms or any other weapons;
- Formation of anti-social gangs;
- Hooliganism;
- Prowling into the restricted hours( in the girls/boys dormitory);
- Gambling;
- Use of abusive/obscene language;
- Laying;
- Harassment/Bulling;
- Improper dress code (including hair style, shoes, make-up);
- Reading /displaying of adult/absence literature;
- Rape and sexual harassment/molestation;
- opposite gender affaires and marriage/pregnancy;
- Open unsocial romances;
- Irregularities (in attending classes, extra-curricular/co-curricular activities, etc.);
- Carrying or using of mobile phone/headphones in the school compound or in the classes.
- Dress code
- Be in school uniform for all school activities, school function and official gatherings.
- Wear national dress/school uniform decently, properly and appropriately at all times.
- Attendance
- Be punctual and regular in the classes and in all activities
- Must be regular in the classes and school activities. Inform the school in case of sudden illness and unavoidable circumstances.
- If any day-scholar is found absent/missing without proper information to the school authority or the concern class teacher, the school shall carry out immediate inquiry with parents and confirm that the student is safe at home.
- Study Attendance and eligible for examination:
- A regular student must have maximum 90% attendance in each subject to be eligible to sit for the any Home/public/Board Examination.
- Personal Hygiene
- A healthy body is a healthy mind. Students must always stay neat and tidy.
- Girls keeping long hair should tie their neatly with black hair bands and are not permitted to wear fancy lockets, earing and do nail polish.
- Drying and hair keeping hair in spiky and dishelved fusion is strictly prohibited for all students.
- School property
- Take care of the school properties and resources.
- Refrain from scribbling on the walls, desks, chairs and table.
- Keep your class –rooms and school campus clean always.
- Substance Abuse and Gambling
- Smoking, talking alcohol and chewing tobacco are strictly prohibited.
- Student found with or, using, selling, buying, or under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or illegal drugs will be expelled without any weaning served.
- Gambling of any sort is strictly prohibited.
- Take only prescribed medicine to you in the prescribed does.
- Language Policy
- The language for communication in the campus shall all be English and Dzongkhag only.
- Always be polite and refrain from using slang and indecent language all the time and in all the places.
- Student should not yell, shout or make unnecessary noise on campus.
- Mutual Respect and Relationships.
- Always look upon your teachers as parents and fellow mates as brothers and sisters.
- Tread your teachers, other staff members and fellow students with respect.
- Disrespecting teacher will be viewed as a serious offence and the offender dealt with severely.
